It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Katharina Windisman (Vaughan, Ontario), who passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John Windisman. She is survived by: her children, Anita, John and Robert. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Mary's recent pandemic project saw a lifelong dream come true - the publication of a cookbook based on her cherished family recipes "Food is Love: Recipes and Memories from the Danube Swabian Kitchen of Mary Windisman" - a collaboration produced by her daughter, Anita.
Instead of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating in Mary's memory to Street Health a non-profit community-based organization that provides health and wellbeing services for the homeless and under-housed population in downtown Toronto.
