She was predeceased by: her husband John William; and her parents, James Walker Cruickshank and Aleta Cruickshank. She is survived by: her children, Peter and Laurie; her son-in-law Jeffrey Wanamaker; her children, Richard and Leslie; her grandchildren, Sarah, Drew, Ben, Johnny, Mary, Lauren, Summer and Grammie; her siblings-in-law, Paul Evans and Jean Evans; and her nieces, Nancie, Patti and Jackie.

The pandemic took away her joy of playing cards with her gang at the Thornhill Seniors Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toronto Humane Society in Joan's name.
