He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carkner and Matilda Sabourin; and his siblings, Ellis, Dick, Lyle, Everett, Cecil, Earl, Stanley, Clifford and Shirley.

He is survived by: his spouse Beverly; his children, Cheryl Power (Michael) and Jeff (Valerie); his grandchild Layla; and his siblings, Jean (Claude) and Myles (Caroll). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
