She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bowers and Hannah Bowers (Lorne Irvine Gunning); her son Garry Lorne (Donald Palmateer); and her siblings, Lorne Bowers and Dorothy Fisher.

She is survived by: her children, Jim (Jacie), Lynda Akey (Gary), Dianne Spencer (Murray), Lorna Fratschko (Erich) and John (Gaylene); and her husband Lorne. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made (sorry no cash) to St. John's United Church; Gateway Community Health Centre (for programs); the Salvation Army, or to Moira Place Benevolent Fund.
