He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Whalen and Yvonne Whalen (Rivers); his spouse Shirley Higgins; and his sons, Joseph and Dennis.
He is survived by: his son Anthony; his daughter-in-law Tammy; his grandchildren, Sharkey and Aiden; and his siblings, Dianne Whalen of Tweed, Richard Whalen of Belleville, Brenda Webb of Belleville and Cheryl Patterson (Doug) of Centreville.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Carthagh's Catholic Church (153 Hungerford Rd, Tweed, ON K0K3J0). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
