He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilda Weiler (Hummel) and Gilbert Weiler; and his siblings, Ruth Ditner (late Urban), Mervyn Weiler (late Dora) and Gilbert Weiler Jr. (late Elizabeth).

He is survived by: his wife Brenda (Stephenson) of Trout Creek; his daughter Paula Rule (Gene) of Trout Creek; his granddaughters, Keira Byers (Patrick) and Michaela Lindquist (Eric Boyce); his great grandchildren, Kale, Tayla Byers, Ayven and Olivia Boyce; and his sister Irene Dietrich (late Ray).

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Trout Creek Volunteer Fire Department Association are suggested.
