He was predeceased by: his wife Claudette; his parents, Mary and Elgin; his brothers, Ted and Tom; and his friend Steve Hoyt.

He is survived by: his stepmother Gayle; his siblings, Mike, Marty, Paul and Tanya; his children, Jim Martelle (Carrie) of Trenton, Christine Whitley (Wayne) of Trenton and Anne-Marie Cunningham (Peter) of Wooler; his great grandchildren, Owen Martelle, Finn Magee and Oliver Magee; and also, Sarah Magee (Allen) and Jimmy Martelle.

Donations to the Lung Association or the Cancer Society in Jim's honour would be appreciated by the family.
