He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Stephen Gainforth and Olive Gladys Gainforth (Teal); his spouse Margaret Mae Gainforth (Phillips); and his child Douglas Harold Gainforth. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Donald Grant Reid Phillips of Morganston and Rhea Palmer of Toronto; and his nieces and nephews, Catherine Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Clay Phillips and Chad Phillips.
