She is survived by: her husband Mervin McDowell; her sons, Tim (Rachel), Andrew (Cathy) and Aaron (late Shona); her grandchildren, Malcolm, Taya, Kiera of Aidan, A. J, Daniel, Neil, Emily Jane and Kaitlyn; and her pet Penny.
