She was predeceased by: her sister Loretta (Don). She is survived by: her husband Rick Byers; her children, David (Alyssia) and Shannon (Matt); her grandchildren, Hailey, Erin, Jackson and Andrew; her brothers, Darrel (Lynn), Danny (Abby), Ivan (Joanne) and Murray (Sherry); and her cousin Volunteer (Friend).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Joseph's Hospital where Penny worked throughout her career.
