He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Sutherland; his children, David, Liane and Lisa-Jo; his granddaughters, Danielle Wryland (Tiff) and Michelle Sutherland (Giacomo Donato); his great grandchildren, Lorenzo, Katrine Sutherland and Ryan Williams (Erin Madonia); and also, Cicily, Jake Williams (Teri Maiden-Hussey), Sarah O'Keefe and Paul O'Keefe (Erin Pawts).
