He was predeceased by: his wife Lorraine (Jones); and his brothers, James and Harold Melen. He is survived by: his children, Dorothy, Dee Hool (John), Lloyd Melen and Kelly Bowie (Paul); his grandchildren, Leslie Ann Iddison (Sean), Shannon Hrycyna (David), Trevor Bowie (Vanessa) and Stephanie Aygun (Hasan); his stepgranddaughters, Sheri Ranger (Richard) and Amanda Hool; and his great grandchildren, Molly, Jacob, Catherine, Benjamin Hrycyna and Samantha Pitcher.
