Patricia Ann (Armstrong) Tweedie Obituary
It is with heavy heart that I announce the death of my dear, beautiful sister Patricia Ann Fielding-Tweedie in Toronto, Canada, on October 2, 2024, at the age of 83, following an acute illness.
Pat was the eldest of six children, including Louise, Tom (deceased), Joe, Pauline and Elaine, the loving mother of André Charbonneau, and stepmother to Debbie and Chris. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Tweedie (2021), a widow of Fred Smith (2001), and her former husband and father to Andre Charbonneau, Denis Charbonneau, who passed on in 2016.
After leaving Canada in the mid 1970’s, Patricia worked in the Canadian Embassy and then the Australian Embassy in Washington, DC, where she met and married Fred Smith, an English citizen. They lived in England for a few years, and returned to Canada, Victoria BC, to be closer to family. Fred passed away in Victoria in 2001. Pat later met and married Michael Tweedie, and lived in Sidney, British Columbia until her health declined in 2019, when they relocated to Toronto, Canada.
Pat loved gardening and displaying beautiful flowers around their home, as well as frequently walking in Butchart Gardens. She loved beautiful music, sang with a choir in Montreal for a period, and would often spontaneously sing a chorus of opera to her family to lighten our hearts. She volunteered at Hospice in Victoria, BC and was an active member in her church. She was a wonderful cook, and famous for her date squares. We loved Pat so much for her loving heart and exuberant personality and will miss her dearly!
