Norman Shulman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Norman Shulman (Toronto, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 7, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Shulman and Sam Shulman. He is survived by: his wife Helen Ostovich; his sister Marlene Deres; his nieces and nephews, Michael Deres (Marisol), Lisa (Deres) and Alistair Sears; his great-nephews, Matthew Deres, Sam Sears and Joshua Sears; his stepson Adam Kirchner (Kym); his stepgrandson Hudson; his grandson Kyle Richards; his uncle Al Leibovitch; and his aunt Ann.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM. A shiva was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Norm met his second wife in 2017, also a professor at McMaster, and they decided to live together at the start of the pandemic.
