It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Bankay (Toronto, Ontario), born in Georgetown, Ontario, who passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Michael may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his child Kamal; his grandchildren, Isla and Luna; and his siblings, Horatio, Clarence, Anita, Compton and Dawn. He was also cherished by his extended family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home Scarborough Chapel (2900 Kingston Rd, Scarborough, ON M1M1N5). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Duffin Meadows Cemetery (2505 Brock Rd, Ajax, ON L1X0A4).
