He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Albertina and Maria Albertina. He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Betsy (Jeff) and Carlos (Gisele); and his grandchildren, Owen, Angus and Zoey. He is also survived by his family and friends.

Private burial to follow. (On the morning of the service, please make your way directly to the church arriving 15 minutes prior to the service.) In Lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jose can be made to Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
