John Gicas Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Gicas (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away on September 2, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Demetrios John Gicas and Eleni Gicas; and his siblings, Cynthia (Lola) and Constantine (Dean). He is survived by: his spouse Constantina (Dina) Gicas; his children, Eleni and Demetrios John; his children-in-law, Maria Gicas and James Kilburn; and his grandchildren, Yianni, Panagiotis and Anastasia. He is also survived by cousins, all nieces and all nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Centre (50 Overlea Blvd, Toronto, ON M4H 1B6). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 9th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (30 Thorncliffe Park Dr., Toronto, ON M4H1H8). A burial was held on Monday, September 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery (375 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4T2V8).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sunnybrook Foundation or Sick Kids Foundations.
