He was predeceased by: his wife Norma Ruthven; his parents, Wilfred Ruthven and Gladys Ruthven; and his sister Edith Middleton. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Ruthven (Heather), Patti Cormier (Alan), Debbie Cote (Gil) and Lori Fredericks (Lindsay); his grandchildren, Adam (Ann-Marie), Mark, Rachael (Will), Lindsay (Ryan), Andrew (Kara), Cassandra, Blake and Brett; and his great grandchildren, Mason, Hudson, Aiden and Gavin.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Paisley Thresher's (cheques payable to the Bruce County Heritage Association) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
