He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Vaillancourt; his parents, Simon Vaillancourt and Colombe Vaillancourt; and his son Gerry Vaillancourt. He is survived by: his children, Matthew (Kim), Richard Jr. (Jena) and Elizabeth (William); his granddaughters, Emily, Jessica, Mia and Kaitlyn; his great grandchildren, Ava-Lynn, Axle, Roman, Scarlett, Arianna, River and Layla; his siblings, Denis (Sue), Andre (Monique), Patrick (Sylvie), Viviane (Rick), Carole (Joey), Lynda (Tim) and Daniel; and his friends, Jim Morrish and Boo Boo Badour. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
