He was predeceased by: his parents, Armande Schmidt (Legault) and Ewald Schmidt; and his brother William Schmidt. He is survived by: his son Shane Lachapelle; his grandchild Neveah Reuben; his stepmother Astrid Schmidt (Steinke); his brothers, Walter (Evangeline), Harold (Patsy), Frederick (Sherri) and Alex (Jenn); and also Anne (Bobby). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
