He was predeceased by: his wife Denise Quesnel; his parents, Oscar Carriere and Noella Carriere; his siblings, Laurent Carriere, Alphonse Carriere, Diane Patneau and Muriel Guertin; and his granddaughter Tia Johnston.

He is survived by: his children, Diane Desormeaux-Wright (James) of Winnipeg, Rodger Desormeaux (Monique) of Timmins, Marc Carrière (Julie) of Timmins and Gilles Carrière (Sylvie) of Timmins; his grandchildren, Dusty, Jesse, Jacob, Annie, Roger, Sam, Zack and Marcel; and his pet Lucky.
