He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Boivin and Gilberte Boivin; and his brothers, Jean-Guy Boivin, Rene Boivin and Marc Boivin.

He is survived by: his wife Heather Boivin; his sons, Richard Boivin (Lauren) and Pete Boivin (Angel Ferron); his grandchildren, Andre Boivin and Maggie Boivin; his brothers, Ray Boivin and Denis Boivin; and also Lisa Kelly. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
