He was predeceased by: his wife Alice Rice; his parents, Roch Rice and Jeanne Rice; his parents-in-law, Roland Pilon and Irene Pilon; his grandchildren, Adam and Makayla; his siblings, George (Jeanine), Roland (France) and Lenny (Irene); and his brothers-in-law, Gerard, Robert, Jean-Paul and Daniel (Yolande).

He is survived by: his daughter Carole Richard (Denis) of Hanmer; his granddaughters, Brittany of Sudbury, Gabrielle of Sudbury, Caroline of Sudbury and Abigail of Toronto; his great grandchild Donald "Donny" Dowdall; and his siblings-in-law, Lucille Bastien (late Ken), René, Denise Sarazin (Fern), Normand and Colette Pilon.
