She was predeceased by: her daughter Paulina Small-Mathews; her parents, Bertrand Kapashesit and Sophia Kapashesit; and her siblings, Richard Small and Margaret Stevens.

She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Kapashesit of Waskaganish, Allison Kapashesit of Timmins and Justice Matthews of Timmins; her grandchildren, Nehemiah, Aaron, Richelle, Malachi, Aralynn, Sage, Ava, Brylan, Cheryl, Marcus and Sydney; and her siblings, Beatrice Wapachee, Judy Cheechoo (Oliver), Clarence Small (Pauline Cheechoo), Doris Small (Jack Diamond), Sandy Kapashesit (Madeline Visitor), Virginia Kapashesit, Bertie Kapashesit (Mary Whiskeychan), Michael Kapashesit, Alfred Kapashesit (late Neilie Frank) and Brenda Kapashesit (late John Patrick Salt).

In light of the current pandemic restrictions, the family has decided to have a private family service.
