She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Towers and Hilda Towers; and her brothers, Doug (late Mary) and Mervyn Towers. She is survived by: her husband Barry Tremblay of Timmins; her children, Leslie MacDonnell (Ken) of Lindsay, Tracey Latchford (Bill) of Georgetown and Chris Tremblay of Timmins; her grandchildren, Sammie MacDonnell, Jade and Rowyn Latchford; her brother Earl Towers (late Betty) of Chatham; her sister-in-law Maureen McFarland (Don) of Barrie; and her nieces and nephews, Ken Towers (Nancy) of Timmins, Tim Towers (Janet) of Burlington, Dean Towers (Jennifer) of Nova Scotia, Douglas Towers of Chatham, Karen Towers (Murray) of Sudbury, Kathy Towers (Richard) of Russell, Lori Narasnek (Steve) of Burlington and Jayne Pope (Stephen) of Texas.

Joan volunteered her time fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
