She was predeceased by: her husband Aaro; and her parents, Ivari Pihlaja and Sanni Pihlaja. She is survived by: her children, Miriam (Guy Frechette) and Raimo Venilainen; her grandchildren, Erik and Kristiina Frechette; her extended family, Anne Kallio-Lister, Erkki Kallio and Kari Kallio; her friend Viola Seppa; and her godchildren, Marlene, Kristine, Cathy, Kari and Peter.
