Ronald Smith Obituary
The family sadly announces the sudden passing of Ronald Kenneth Roy Jess Smith at Woodstock General Hospital on Friday May 12, 2023 at the age of 82 years. Loving husband to Florence (nee Tindall). Father to Ken Smith (Agatha), Sherry McLain and Alan Smith. Grandfather to 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Ron was a half-brother to Glen Esseltine (Barb). He is survived by his brother-in-law Chuck Hutchison, nephews' Wayne (Jennifer) Hutchison and Rob (Carrie) Hutchison, best friend John Puhr and close friends Doreen (Glen) Gunkel and their kids Samantha (Gary) and Conner.
Ron will be remembered for his enjoyment he found in Country music, sharing meals with family and friends, playing cards and his special canine friend Boo-Boo. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Woodstock Hospital for the great care Ron received during his stay there.
In keeping with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at the Tillsonburg Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to the Oxford County Animal Rescue and can be done online directly with the Charity of by contact Ostrander's Funeral Home (519) 842-5221 who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
