He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Silverthorn and Alice Silverthorn (Saxton); his son Neil Silverthorn; his brother Frank Silverthorn; and his brothers-in-law, Tony Martinkevicius, Floyd Catt and Jim Thomson.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Silverthorn (McFarlane); his children, Joyce Hussey (Will), Joe Silverthorn (Holly) and Jim Silverthorn; his grandchildren, Matthew Hussey, Sarah Hussey (Nick), Marcus Hussey, Hannah Lindsay (Damon) and Carson Silverthorn; his sister Frances Martinkevicius; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Catt, Isabelle Bynsdorp (Bill), Shirley Bynsdorp (John), Patricia Thomson and Vera Silverthorn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
