He is survived by: his sisters, Trijntje Pool (Albert) and Johanna (Eelke) of Boer; his children, Gerhard Ritzema (Heather Loenen), Ingrid Portena (Rick) and Martine Rastorfer (Peter); and his stepchildren, Tyson Van Leeuwen (Jessica), Gary Van Leeuwen, Susan Van Leeuwen (Jim Wilson), Tina De Leye (Craig), Henrietta Van Leeuwen (George Sekanina) and Evelyn Roth (Cory).
