She was predeceased by: her sisters, Margareta Geers and Lucienne Geers-Hullebus; and her sister-in-law Anne Loncke. She is survived by: her son Marc (Kim) of Courtland; her grandsons, Alexander and Andrew (Florence) of Tillsonburg; and her siblings-in-law, Luke Van Maele (Nicole) of Tillsonburg, Cecile Alexander of Norwich and Dan Van Maele (Judy) of Langton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully acknowledge donations to the Oxford County Animal Rescue (789 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON) in memory of Georgette as both she and Joseph were full of sympathy and concern for the welfare of animals and especially dogs.
