He was predeceased by: his parents, Ovila Duquette and Aurore Duquette; his daughter Debra Mellow; and his sister Leona Quenneville. He is survived by: his wife Carol. He is also survived by his eighteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

As he wished, Jim's body has been donated to Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University for medical research and education.
