He was predeceased by: his parents, James Caughy and Mary Caughy (Burk); his wife Carol Caughy (Hooker); and his brothers, Bill, Bruce, Fred, Donny, Cam and Ewart Caughy.

He is survived by: his children, Jamie Caughy (Marine) of Tilbury, Michael Caughy of Blenheim, Richard Caughy (Jenny) of Chatham and Jeffrey Caughy (Dawn) of Blenheim; his grandchildren, Joel Caughy (Melissa), Jennifer Caughy (Chris Mathieson), Sebastian Ouellette (Sarah), Elizabeth Caughy, Karissa Caughy and Kolby Caughy; his great grandchildren, Scarlett and Ravyn Mathieson; and his sisters, Marie Heiser, Shirley Heisler (late Bert) and Linda Hall. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
