He was predeceased by: his grandchild Ryan Barron; and his parents, Albert Hewer (Heppel) and Edna Hewer (Chambers). He is survived by: his wife Helen Hewer; his children, John Hewer, Lynn Stuart (Tim), Lori (Yvon Levesque) and Leigh Barron; his grandchildren, Ashley Barron, Jessica Hewton (Riley Jones), Robert Stuart (Gillian), Brittany Stuart and Michael Levesque (Samantha Rivard); his great grandchildren, Piper Browning and Livia Stuart; and his siblings, Donna McIntosh (late Jack), Francis Hewer, Bob Hewer (Betty) and Darlene Reynolds (Gord).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Jack's grandson Ryan Barron, to help build the Barron Bowl at Atkinson Park in Windsor Ontario. Donations can be made out to City of Windsor for Atkinson Skateboard Park, P.O. Box 1607, Windsor, Ontario, N9A 6S1.
