He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Kay and Gertrude Kay. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his friend Willow; his children, Ross (Janet) and Diane; his grandchildren, Stephen, Rebekah (Tristan), Luke, Grant, Rachel (Jacob), Grace (Tyler), Lloyd and Hannah (Terry); his great grandchildren, Adelaide, Everett, Kaycee and Kameron; and his siblings-in-law, Eva Chevalier (late Claire), Joan VanHyfte (late Peter), Jim DeHoey (late Joanne), Elizabeth DeHoey (late Ed), Rick, Diana DeHoey (late Wendy), Cindy and Wayne Morris. He is also survived by Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
