He was predeceased by: his parents, Archibald Hardy and Lily Hardy; his brothers, Norman Hardy and Jim Hardy; his sister-in-law Bernice Hardy; his sisters, Joyce Squitti and Doreen Smith; and his niece Brenda Hardy.

He is survived by: his wife Sheila Hardy; his daughters, Donna Ross, Kelly Daberer (Volker) and Jackie Anton (Kevin); his grandchildren, Aaron Ross, Alex Ross, Jason Placken, Alysha Placken, Tyler Anton and Kody Anton; and his brother Stanley Hardy (Judy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
