Theresa Jalkanen Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 16, 2025, at the age of 81, Theresa Jalkanen (Thunder Bay, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Brisard and Frances Brisard; and her in-laws, Olga and Arthur Sr. Jalkanen. She is survived by: her sibling Lamaune; her granddaughter Makayla Curl; her husband Arthur Jalkanen; her pet Dawson; her children, Eric (Val), Darlene (Bill), Denise (Karl), Dean and Darryl (Susan); her stepson Frank (Gayle King); her sister-in-law Christine Shewchuk (Bill); her siblings, Marie Toset (Nils), Oswald Brisard, Gaetan, Dollard, Gerard, Roy, Rosetta, Alice, Charlotte, Annette and Irene Brisard; her brother-in-law Victor Head; her children-in-law, Noella Kwisses and Greg Bottle; her former husband Eric Kwisses Sr.; her caregivers, Jorge, Lucy and Kevin; and also Pearl Brisard. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harbourview Funeral Centre (499 Cumberland St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A4R9). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Corpus Christi Church (664 Red River Rd, Thunder Bay, ON P7B1H8). A reception was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Harbourview Funeral Centre (499 Cumberland St N, Thunder Bay, ON P7A4R9).
