Stella Gilberg Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 20, 2021, at the age of 97, Stella Gilberg (Thunder Bay, Ontario), born in Hornepayne, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Henry Gilberg; her son Larry; her siblings, John, Mike, Victoria, Helen and Joe; her parents, Philip Serbin and Mary Serbin; and her friend Dot Kushner.
She is survived by: her sister Jennie Viitala (Kauko); her brother-in-law Jaromir Nemec; her nieces and nephews, Jackie Nemec (Larry Bakk), Stanley Nemec, Susan Nemec Angela Ruppert (Brad Lutz), David Viitala and Peter Viitala; her granddaughters, Shannon MacDonald (Darren) and Shelley Gilberg (David Miller); and her great grandchildren, Sebastian, Danielle and Cora Bakk. She is also survived by other nieces/nephews and grandnieces/nephews.
Special thanks to the Staff of 2B (especially Sam and Sara) at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre who were patient, gentle and caring making Stella's time at TBRHSC more bearable during the challenges caused by Covid19 restrictions.
Should friends desire, donations in lieu of flowers to the Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Red Cross or Diabetes Canada are welcome.
