With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Marie Stankey (Thunder Bay, Ontario), who passed away on November 25, 2023 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Marie Stankey to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Anne Waruk and Nicholas Waruk; her grandparents, Alexander and Katharina Marak; and her former husband Edward Stankey (Joe Ulakovic).

She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Buitenhuis (John) and Sadie Wenk (Ron); her granddaughters, Sherry Minnella (Carmen), Ashley Holland (Cory) and Brittany Wenk (Micheal Vis); her great grandchildren, Luca and Alia Minnella; and her siblings, Joyce O'Shaunessey, Germaine Carter and Brent Waruk (Mavis). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in Shirley's name to any animal charity, preferably, No Dogs Left Behind.
