She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil and Lyyti; and her siblings, Helmi Gee, Helen Munro, Helga Maki, Helvi Campbell, Helena Rintaluhta, Betty Blanco and Richard Wirta.

She is survived by: her husband Ruth; her children, Anne Dickson (Lawrence) of Deep River, Pat Dunnett-Thrall (Dave) of Winnipeg and Brock Dunnett (Yvonne) of Thunder Bay; her grandchildren, Matthew, Neil, Beth and Austin; her great grandchild Jasper; her siblings, Edith Lazaruk and Fred Wirta; and her sister-in-law Sandra Wirta. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
