It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ritva Anneli Matikainen of Thunder Bay, Ontario, who passed away on April 30, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sulo Hakkarainen and Aili (Teitto); and her siblings, Marja and Lauri. She is survived by: her husband Jaakko; her children, Olli (Cindy), Irene Frenette (Dan), Ari (Jana) and Jani (Vicki); her grandchildren, Chelsea, Jacob (Erin), Mathew (Amanda), Anna, Kirsi, Kari and Hanna; her great grandchildren, Stevie and Madison; her sister Mirja Wahser (Richard); and her nieces, Larissa and Iiris.

According to her wishes, Ritva will be cremated, and due to COVID, a private service to follow.

Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Hilldale Lutheran Church or the Thunder Bay Northern Cardiac Fund.
