He was predeceased by: his wife Greta; his parents, Juho Talakoski and Tyyne Talakoski; his sons, Ronald Talakoski and Juhani Talakoski; his great grandchild Sabina Noëlle Bogler; his brother-in-law Hannu Alhola; and also, Niilo Kuntola and Helmi Kuntola.

He is survived by: his daughter Eija Simic; his son-in-law Mark Simic; his sisters, Leena Ketola (Seppo) of Finland and Terttu Alhola of Finland; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Simic Bogler (Jarrod) of Finland, Jesse Talakoski of Finland, Joshua Talakoski of Finland, Mika of Finland, Sami of Finland, Petri of Finland and Anne-Mari Luoma of Finland.
