She was predeceased by: her parents, George Frederick Gilbey and Mary Margaret Gilbey; her parents-in-law, Vilho and Sylvia Kaukola; and her sister-in-law Myrna Vidotto.

She is survived by: her husband Mark Kaukola; her pet Simon; her children, Chris (Jodie), Laura and Tanis; her grandchildren, Avarey and Axander "Ax"; her brother Robert (Bob) Gilbey (Kathy); her nieces and nephews, Julie and Zach; her brother-in-law Joe Vidotto; and her niece Sara. She is also survived by extended family members including cousins.
