He was predeceased by: his father Leonard; and his brothers, Ronald and Dale Shane. He is survived by: his girlfriend Liliane Shane; his mother Maria Shane; his sister Lori Augustin (Ron) of Sault Ste; his children, Michaele (Andre) and Dale (Tazmin) of Hamilton; his stepchildren, Nadia (Jamie) of Thunder Bay and Patrick (Ericka) of Fort McMurray; his grandchildren, Taniko, Mikaere, Cooper, Maizie, Ron and Analiese; and his nieces and nephews, Katlyn Foisy and Krysten Halcrow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
