She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Martin Smit; her children, Anita Provoost (Caleb) of Parksville, B. C., Lori Tiemens (Patrick) of Stratford, Joe Smit (Chantale) of Ottawa and Mike Smit of Thunder Bay; her grandchildren, Ryan (Sky), James, Hannah, Anna, Sarah and Claire; her siblings, Jan van (late Arlene) of Hoef, Jerry van (Mary Jane) of Hoef and Jack van (Jane) of Hoef; and her parents, Sander van and Willy van (Hooyer) of Hoef. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
