She was predeceased by: her parents, Urho Mayry and Rauha Kujula; her brother Matti Mayry; her husband Robert Nason (Bob); her son Dean Nason; and also Martti Kujula.

She is survived by: her daughter Darlene Watts (Jim); her siblings, Raimo Kujala (Jane) and Rita Salo (Bill); her grandchildren, Sheena Kivisto (Ryan), Raymond Kivisto (Melissa), Candace Nason (Paul) and Deanna Nason; and her great grandchildren, Austin Wheeler, Silas Wheeler, Cole Kivisto and Porter Kivisto.

In lieu of a service or flowers, Maija would have appreciated donations made to either Parkinson's Canada, or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
