He was predeceased by: his mother Maude; his wife Lois 'Bobbie Laughton; his father Kenneth; his parents-in-law, Jean and Fred Reynard; and his brother-in-law Bill Hatley.

He is survived by: his sons, David (Vicki), Bill (Jasia) and Bruce; his siblings, Jim (Margie) and Jane Philp (George); and his sister-in-law Lorraine Hatley. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
