With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irene Nickerson in Thunder Bay, Ontario, born in Kenora, Ontario, who passed away on December 31, 2020 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Irene Nickerson to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henrik Forstrom and Olga Maria Pearson Forstrom; her siblings, Dora Cox (Bob) and Sidney Forstrom (Joan); and her children-in-law, Dawn Nickerson and Steven Elrick.

She is survived by: her husband John Nickerson; her sister Shirley Anne Luft (Bill); her nieces, Mary Lou Kelley (John Cosgrove), Deborah (Paul) of Bakker, Catherine Nickerson (Brian King), Joan Duke (John) and Susan Nickerson (Josh Croisetiere); her nephew George Nickerson (Sandy Forsyth); and her grandchildren, Allison Kelley (Dan Zapior), Beverley Kelley (Jeremy Warenzek), Peter (Jennifer Dagsvik) of Bakker, John (Jennifer) of Bakker, Martin (Maria Sanchez Garcia) of Bakker, Alexander Adam, Jeri Duke (Noel Thrush), Jordis Duke, Joanna Duke (Andrew Bonin), Craig Elrick and Mary Elrick.

Donations made in Memory of Irene Nickerson will be directed by the CNIB Foundation to support services in Thunder Bay.
