He is survived by: his children, Dwayne Medwid (Jennifer), Leigh Ann Medwid (Devin) and Clint Medwid (Laurie); his grandchildren, Jordan, Hayden, Ashleigh, Cara and Max; and his great grandchild Skyler. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

George loved dogs, and if one should so desire, memorial donations can be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society or Northern Reach Rescue Network.
