She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Peterson and Esther Peterson (Strand); her husband Gary Hicks; her sister Kathy VonNiebelschutz; her brother-in-law Paul Begin; her aunt Viola Strand; and her grandson Gabriel Eldridge.

She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara-Ann and Barb; her son-in-law Devin Eldridge; her son Duane Hicks; her granddaughters, Olivia and Aubrey; her sister Darlene Begin; and her cousin Diane Jewell (Greg). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rainycrest Auxiliary, 550 Osborne Street, Fort Frances, ON, P9A 3T2 or the Canadian Cancer Society.
