He is survived by: his children, Kevin Wakewich and Suzanne Erven; his grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Erven; and his siblings, Ron, Reg, Claude and Marie. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws.

A wake was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Westfort Chapel (420 Gore St W, Thunder Bay, ON P7E6J2).
